Master Singers of Worcester
Home Master Singers To Go Worcester Children's Chorus

History

The Master Singers of Worcester was founded in 1976. Under the direction of its first conductor, the late Alfred Nash Patterson, MSW established itself as a preeminent choral organization by performing works by masters, known and lesser-known, from the past and present. Since then, under the direction of an array of distinguished conductors (See list below), MSW has continued to present not only famous masterworks familiar to concert goers, but also lesser known sacred and secular compositions, as well as many first performances and area premieres of choral works by contemporary composers, including commissioned works for MSW. See Past Concerts.

Several major subscription concerts are presented each year in greater Worcester, in addition to occasional outreach events and other community programs. In continuous operation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer community chorus for men and women, the membership of nearly 60 singers is drawn from many Worcester County communities. MSW takes pride in supporting the Worcester Children's Chorus, a choral program for youth and children.
