The Master Singers of Worcester is a group of dedicated musicians from Worcester and neighboring communities who contribute their time and talent to the performance of superb choral music. The chorus is non-denominational and multigenerational, with members ranging in age from young adult through senior. It is symbolic of the Master Singers' mission: to perform a variety of high quality choral music for the enjoyment and education of both the performer and the listener.

Membership is by audition. Interested singers are invited to attend open rehearsals offered twice a year, generally September and January. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm, from September through May, in Gifford Hall at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts located on the Common at the intersection of Main Street and Route 140 (Grafton Street).

The Master Singers of Worcester does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, religion, disability or sexual preference. Members pay annual dues, purchase their own music, and are expected to volunteer their time in serving various organizational needs, such as ad solicitation, ticket sales and costume planning.

Student Internships

The Master Singers of Worcester, Inc. accepts talented, motivated college and graduate school students for membership. As part of their outreach to the community, MSW members fully underwrite the cost of dues in order to:

• Introduce young adult singers to a choral experience with a fine community chorus
• Learn about great choral repertoire
• Encourage participation in the arts
• Discover singing as a life-long pleasure

The MSW internship is available to all full-time college and graduate school students. It is expected that interns will attend Tuesday night rehearsals faithfully and perform in concerts which are scheduled several times throughout the year. The singer may be required to complete a brief vocal interview or submit a letter of recommendation from the student's voice teacher. MSW will invite 2-6 interns each year to join them.
